Unique school for production workers is functioning at Kazchrome

School of Masters is the training program for the personnel. This project has been an effective platform for training employees for many years, which is easily confirmed by dozens of successful career starts after graduation. Top management of the company has been involved in training this year.

It is planned to train 198 employees at all branches in 2020. The program is designed for duration of a week and includes various topics: from the labor code and production economics to standardization and special technologies. One full day of training is dedicated to management psychology and leadership development.

- The importance of the school's program is to create a reserve for the key position of a master, a person who directly manages the work process: a manager, a production worker, and a communicator for his employees, - comments Vasily Chepurnoy, Head of the Department for Training and Development.

- As a matter of fact, people with higher education, but narrow, directed to a specific industry, may go out to become masters - says Denis Uzlov, one of the graduates of the school of masters, who today holds the post of deputy head of the smelting shop № 1 of Aksu ferroalloy plant. - And the master needs to learn the basics of management, the workshop's economics and labour law. This is what we are introduced to in our school.

The school takes us to the next stage of our career in production, or "transfers" from the workshop to the office, but certainly increases the amount of knowledge and skills.

This year, the training program of the personnel reserve at the branches of Kazchrome will be supplemented by two new modules. Masters will be additionally trained in the nuances of daily reporting and operational efficiency of equipment. Both modules will be led by Isak Buitendag, Kazchrome's Vice President for Production.

In addition, one hour of the program will be dedicated to SAP - a strategic initiative for the development of the Group, the specialists of the service center of BTS LLP will teach others about it.

Getting acquainted with SAP will touch upon those who get a job at the enterprise, are transferred from one position to another or are in the personnel reserve.

One of the major and effective areas of work with the personnel reserve is personnel assessment. And now they have found a mobile approach - online testing initiated by the Management Company. The testing methodology is focused on selecting line and functional personnel. One and a half hours of testing - and the employee receives his or her detailed "professional portrait" from a specialist. There are both strengths and something else to work on.  And the main thing is how to do it.

- A person understands itself much more as a professional, and the company understands how and where it is better to apply the skillset of this specialist. Perhaps, he has already outgrown his position and it is time for him to move on. - Oksana Kravchenko, HR Development Manager, clarifies.

As of today, more than 200 people have already been tested.
