Jobs for people with disabilities have been created at the Aksu ferroalloy plant

This is already the second branch of TNC Kazchrome JSC, where the People’s Control system was introduced — a system in which people with disabilities record violations of labor safety requirements at production sites by means of video monitoring. The ferroalloy plant in Aktobe became a pilot site. Now, additional operators are hired at the Aksu ferroalloy plant. They were former employees of the enterprise who were disabled because of industrial injuries, occupational diseases or for general medical reasons. So far, it is five people. It is planned to expand the staff up to 15 employees, and the selection of candidates continues. Each of them observes the production sites in real time and records labor safety violations.

— When the offer came in, I agreed immediately," said Anatoly Nedozorov. — The company has provided everything necessary; I have a convenient shift schedule. I have worked at the plant for almost 30 years and I know everything here. If my new job saves someone else’s life, I will be glad.

The controllers are employed by the company with all the contributions due and the social package in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. They were provided with comfortable conditions, providing them with laptops, routers, Internet and telephone communication. The shift schedule is 4 hours each.

Any dangerous behavior of employees is considered as a potential cause of the incident. The company strictly monitors this," said Sergei Prokopyev, director of the Aksu Ferroalloy Plant. — The task of video surveillance operators is to monitor the work of their colleagues and, if violations are detected, to bring the information to the attention of the relevant services. In turn, they will already take preventive measures. We believe that this project will be another step for our company towards creating a safe production culture.
