Khromtau is ready for Severe Frosts
Aa extensive work scope was completed under the Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant Investment Program in the lead-up to the start of the heating season. Modernization, repairs and maintenance allowed to increase the equipment reliability and provide residents of the town with a sustainable heating supply in winter.
Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant spent about 1.25 bln KZT for implementation of its investment commitments in 2015-2019. The following work was performed within this period: overhaul repairs of the heating supply system 5.8 km long and replacement of the Central Boiler Room equipment.
– We are engaged in an extensive work aimed at implementation of our declared investment commitments, – said Murat Beristenov, Power Shop Deputy Head. – Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant and Kazchrome Company Management pays a special attention to this sphere as it deals with the town residents heating supplying. First of all, these maintenance and repair works allow to increase the heating supply system reliability for the consumers in autumn and winter, during the period when the Boiler Houses’ loads reach their maximum, renew the subdivision’s assets, upgrade the operating characteristics of the equipment to the specifications and improve a number of performances.
Currently the Central Boiler House shall provide a sustainable operation of the equipment and the planned maintenance is under the process. Starting from October 1 the heating is supplied to the private houses, schools and kindergartens. And it is planned to supply heating to the multi-storey houses of the town starting from October 15, the operations are performed in accordance with the schedule. The passport of readiness for the winter has been issued to the Boiler House.
The Central Boiler House has been in operation since 1960. The installed thermal capacity is 192 Gcal/h. Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant shall provide the Khromtau residents with heating, potable water supplies and sewage water disposal services.
It is also worth noting that while determining the rates for the regulated services JSC “TNC “Kazchrome” acting as a holder of natural monopoly is primarily guided by the principals of the social responsibility and does not raise its rates since 2018 in spite of the losses incurred in this sphere.
