A New-Generation Underground Loader Arrives at Donskoy GOK

At the Bolashak mine of Donskoy GOK, the phased launch of the latest mining haulage equipment line continues, with an Epiroc ST14 S diesel loader commissioned. This is the first loader of this class in ERG and another stage in the mine’s transition to mechanised mining using Sublevel Caving (SLC) technology.

The new machine is already operating at the minus 402 meter level, where mining is carried out using the SLC method. With a 14-tonne payload capacity and the largest bucket in the company’s underground equipment fleet, the loader will increase site productivity and ore haulage volumes. Previously, 10-tonne machines were used here.

“The transition to new-generation equipment not only creates the production foundation for the mine’s development, but also changes approaches to ore extraction, making processes safer and more comfortable for employees. Together, these measures increase productivity, expand the use of SLC technology and help consistently improve the efficiency of underground mining,” said Bauyrzhan Utemisov, Director of Donskoy GOK.

The loader is equipped with a modern cabin offering improved visibility, a 360-degree video surveillance system, air conditioning and an automatic gas analyser. New control systems provide the operator with full control over the machine and improve working comfort. In addition, all cabins are certified to an international safety standard.
