Metallurgists’ and Miner’s Children Will Have Their Rest at the Aktobe Children’s Camps

Over 1,000 children of the Aktyubinsk Ferroalloys Plant and Donskoy GOK (Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant) workers and employees will have their rest at the Aktobe Children’s Health Camps this summer. Kazchrome has provided more than 60 mln KZT for the above-mentioned purposes.

After a break due to the pandemic in 2020, the children's holiday campaign for metallurgists' and miners' children was re-launched this summer. The holidays are organized in compliance with all epidemiological norms. 500 children of employees of the Aktyubinsk Ferroalloys Plant will have their rest at the Shugyla camp, and 500 children of miners – at the Bereke camp that by the way, was opened this year exclusively for the children of Donskoy GOK. This year the company undertook 100 percent payment for the camp voucher, which is up to 70 thousand tenge per child. Earlier parents were reimbursed 50% of total cost of children vacations.

- Our children have already started the summer season. The choice fell on camps with very interesting program and decent and the most important thing is safe conditions for our children. I believe they will like it. This year, the company's management has decided to change the rules of payment. Whereas in previous years parents were reimbursed only a half of the cost, this year the payment is 100 per cent. Parents are only required to submit their children's PCR test results as there are certain epidemiological rules for entering the camp," says Sapargaly Mukashov, Chairman of the trade union organisation of JSC “TNC “Kazchrome”.

The Kazchrome personnel kids will be able to enjoy their holidays throughout the summer and several seasons have been defined. Each camp has its own program for children aged 6 to 17.

- My children have been going to children's camps from the plant since 2014. The only exception was last year - at the peak of the pandemic. This year, both of my sons, the eldest 12 and the youngest 10, went to Shugyla. They have already told me that it is the best season ever. We watched sunrises and sat around a campfire. The program has changed and meets the interests of children of all ages," said Assel Yeleuova, a Chemical Engineer of the AktZF power plant.

This summer holiday will be unusual and new for the children of Khromtau, whose parents work at Donskoy GOK. Earlier, they used to rest at the "Mugodzhary" recreation camp, which is owned by the enterprise. But this year it is planned to make repairs there. However, in order to ensure that the children of our employees have a rest in summer, we have signed a contract with the Bereke summer camp in Aktobe. There are five seasons planned in "Bereke" this summer, each of them lasts 10 days. The company and the trade union committee fully reimburse the parents for the cost of the camp voucher.

- We understand that the situation around the world is really difficult right now and our company is trying to support not only our employees but also their families as much as possible. Last year, due to the quarantine measures and the spread of coronavirus infection, children's holidays had to be limited. This summer, with the permission of the Chief Sanitary Inspector, the camps were resumed. We couldn't say no to our children," said Arman Yessenzhulov, president of JSC "TNC "Kazchrome". - We organized recreation for them at the best camps in Aktobe, which provide all the conditions for the safe and interesting holidays.

It is worth noting that children's holidays are organized in accordance with the company's Collective Agreement, which in 2018 was recognized as the best in the country at the Paryz competition on social responsibility of business. The document is socially oriented and was developed taking into account changes in the labor legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. However, in addition to the rights and benefits guaranteed by law, it provides for free medical care, training for employees and their children, interest-free loans for medical treatment, preferential vouchers to health resorts and recreation centres, children's health camps, payments for anniversaries etc.
