Kazchrome employees made children's New Year wishes come true

Every year Kazchrome enterprises organise the ‘’Christmas Tree of Wishes‘’ campaign. Employees and management receive letters from children from socially vulnerable groups of the population and make their wishes come true. This year's ‘Christmas Tree’ featured a wide list of children's wishes - from guitars and soft toys to modern iPads and sports equipment.

The children's wish-lists included soft toys, a steam train on rails, a talking doll, a gyroscooter, mobile phones, warm jackets, bicycles and even a certificate to a certain clothing shop. Some of the letters are very touching: a boy from Aktobe asked for a doll for his sister and a girl from Khromtau asked for a winter pram for her youngest sibling to make it easier for her mum to take him for a walk. Children from low-income and large families, as well as children abandoned by their parents, were given a chance for a New Year miracle, and we tried to fulfil them as accurately as possible.

'As a socially oriented company, Kazchrome pays a lot of attention to children, but the Christmas Tree of Wishes is not just a New Year event,' says Sergey Prokopyev, General Director of TNC Kazchrome JSC. 'Each gift is chosen with warmth and love. Many people add something extra - sweets or, for example, gloves to a warm jacket. We, adults, are gladly involved in this action, participating in a small New Year miracle. We wish all children a joyful and successful New Year!'

In Khromtau, the children were older, and their dreams matched. They asked for sportswear, skates, guitars and various gadgets. The managers of Donskoy GOK had to do their best to buy a volleyball player's complete outfit, right down to the little things that are so important in the game, and to look for warm clothes from specific manufacturers. They also bought sweets and chocolates for those asked just for that: sweets and skates, for example.

In Aksu, the management of the plant and heads of departments became Santa Clauses for 25 kids. The most unusual gifts chosen by the children were a pupil's desk, easel, skis and Kazakh national musical instrument - dombra. This year, by the way, was marked with requests for more musical instruments, for example, guitars.

In addition to the gifts for the children in Aksu, they prepared a New Year festive programme with the participation of favourite children's characters and a delicious lunch. In Aktobe and Khromtau, gifts were delivered to home addresses, including remote villages of the district.
