Kazchrome Environmental Task Force

The Clean Banks annual campaign of Kazchrome aimed at raising awareness of the citizens and development of their careful attitude to the environment was also hold this year – the Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant Environmental Specialists launched this action and were actively supported by the Company Departments Environment Management System Authorized Specialists.

Every year dozens of bags of garbage left by people after their recreation were taken out of the cleaned area. There were less tourists on the banks this year due to the pandemic and quite possible some of them showed their awareness this year, as there were less garbage.

25 environmental activists thoroughly cleaned the area of one hundred meters along the bank line within two hours. The organizers announced a competition for the most valuable contribution in the common goal in order to avoid boring and monotonous cleaning.

- The Environmental Specialists of the Plant actively support the Clean Bank campaign within ten years by running this campaign in the lead-up to the Environmental Day. We rescheduled it for September this year due to the current epidemiological situation in the country, - says Irina Morozova the Company’s Environmental Protection Department Head. – I am glad that the weather has been fine and we have been able to clean the area rapidly and in a friendly manner. It is pleasant to note that we found less garbage this year so our appeals are not waste of time and many people do not leave any garbage when leaving the bank after their recreation on the bank.

– I personally take part in all environmental campaigns. We do our town better together with the young people and environmental specialists, - said Abay Bertakov Crushing and Beneficiation Plant Production Engineer.  – This time I noted that we removed only one truck with the garbage. Earlier the people after their recreation left a lot of garbage. Every year people pay more attention to cleanliness and environment. This is an important sphere of the Company's activity, so we, the employees, are pleased to see it.

After all garbage was collected in bags, the organizers summed up the results of the competition. Gulnur Sarina, Ore Beneficiation and Pelletizing Plant Production Support Services Engineer who collected the most part of the garbage, was announced as a winner. She received an environmental branded mud as a prize.
