Half a Billion Tenge to Repair Houses in ‘Zhilgorodok’
Kazchrome financed the renovation of the facades and roofs of 32 houses in Aktobe's historic district under a Memorandum signed between the Aktyubinsk Oblast Akimat and ERG. This is the first renovation in more than 70 years.
The Group's Management, has decided to include the houses renovation project financing as part of the annual Memorandum signed between the Aktyubinskaya Oblast Akimat and ERG. The Company has allocated KZT 540 million for this purpose.
- The ERG Management proposed to finance this district renovation, as this is place where the construction of the first houses for the plant's employees started at the beginning of the plant's activity. The families of our employees and veterans live here," commented Arman Yessenzhulov, President of JSC TNC "Kazchrome", and the Company allocated funds according to the charitable assistance system, and the Akimat was involved in determining the houses to be included in this programme and selecting the contractor. And Kazchrome, on its part, supervises the implementation of the project on its own initiative and carefully controls the quality of the repairs and the wishes of the tenants. We know that there are requests from the residents of neighbouring buildings being not covered by the programme this year. However, the final selection and coordination of the lists is done by the City Akimat. Next year we will continue this work and hope for active citizens in this matter. In the future we will consider the possibility of continuing this work.
The renovation of facades and roofs in Zhilgorodok started on 14 June. The simultaneous renovation is taking place on 26 buildings and 180 people are involved. The general contractor, Baisanat-A LLP, expects to complete this work by September 2021. The colour scheme chosen for painting the facades is intended to preserve the historical appearance of the houses, which preserve the spirit of the old town.
According to local residents, this is the first renovation in the history of Zhilgorodok.
