Green Wave of Kazchrome

The environmental movement "Zhasyl Kazchrome" unites people in several cities of the country. In Aktobe, Khromtau and Aksu, Kazchrome employees annually green up the territories of enterprises and city parks. This year, the city planting activities were postponed until the fall due to quarantine, but the action was effective at the branches.

500 new trees have already been planted in the sanitary protection zone of the Aksu Ferroalloys Plant. These are the first trees in the new long-term landscaping project for six years. During this period, three thousand trees will appear around the AksFP.

To increase the percentage of survival of plantings, the enterprise took into account the peculiarities of local soil and provided funds for subsequent tending. Five hundred seedlings of balsam poplar and silverberry elaeagnus were planted in the designated area. These trees are unpretentious, resistant to dust and frost-resistant, as well as less demanding on the composition of soils.

This week, the Youth Council of Kazchrome Management also joined “the green wave” of the company and planted seedlings in the office territory.

About 40 young pyramidal poplars in the future will become a small park; they were planted instead of the trees frozen after a severe winter. This year, the office youth for the first time joined the environmental movement “Zhasyl Kazchrome” and they are not going to stop there. They plan to keep the main events in the fall, after all restrictions have been removed, to green up even urban areas with public men.

In the units of the Donskoy GOK, the environmental action covered sanitary protection zones and industrial sites. Every year, industrialists plant trees, do cleaning and improve the territory. Not only pyramidal poplars are planted, but also alder, birch, lilac, flowers. ... When it comes to flowering, industrial sites delight with paints.

Ecologists of the Aktobe Ferroalloys Plant also decided to conduct a planting in each shop separately. Metallurgists planted 145 pyramidal poplars in the first, second and fourth smelting shops. In total, 350 seedlings were received at the enterprise. The workers will plant the remaining trees within a few days, each shop on its territory.
