AI Reduces Chrome Losses at Donskoy Ore Mining and Processing Plant

DGOK chose not to rely on off-the-shelf external solutions, but on proprietary development. A joint team under the joint leadership of Gulnur Sarina (Kazchrome) and Askhat Bukeyev (BTS) implemented the “Digital Advisor” for sedimentation machine OMK-1 — a system that predicts the risk of chrome losses in real time and helps staff adjust the process before deviations occur.

“The beneficiation stage is the key development priority for DGOK. This is where the efficiency of the entire production chain is determined. The use of artificial intelligence allows us to handle natural resources with utmost care: to extract more metal from every tonne of ore and reduce losses. This is not only an economic issue, but also a matter of responsibility,” says Gulnur Sarina, Beneficiation Manager at TNC Kazchrome JSC.
