A new type of special equipment is being mastered at the Aksu ferroalloy plant

Two KAMAG trucks manufactured in Germany were delivered to the specialists of the Aksu Ferroalloys Plant. Today the giant machines serve one of the 26 furnaces of the enterprise — No.64, reconstructed within the framework of large-scale renovation of the melting shop No.6. Special-purpose transport transports the slag produced in the process of ferrochrome production. At other furnaces of the plant, machinists, with the help of electric bridge cranes, do this. The use of slag trucks has already reduced the load on the load-lifting fleet of the shop and made the work of the plant’s railroad workers much easier.

The size of the new special equipment is impressive. At twelve meters length, the height of the machine is four meters. The same width of the front end and seven meters is the width of the rear wheelbase. However, despite the impressive size, it is quite convenient to operate such a machine. Its cabin is equipped with two remote controls and a swivel seat. The driver only needs to turn around 180 degrees to become the operator of the slag bowl gripping mechanism.

Before these machines were put into operation, a separate transport line was built and a special landfill was equipped for unloading.
